Great news for children with heart disease

On 14th February 2019, the Department of Health announced that they will establish a HeartKids Project with $26 million to tackle childhood heart disease. The $20 million funding for medical research is a welcoming news for children with congenital heart disease.

"Congenital conditions, including congenital heart disease, are the leading cause of death for Australian infants and the second leading cause of death for children. Unlike other cardiovascular problems, which commonly present in adults over 45 years, congenital heart disease has its greatest impact on the young."
